The key tasks facing the workforce at Pervouralsky Novotrubny Works are ensuiring high-quality production, strick compliance with standards requirements, and continuous satisfaction of user expectations. This tenet lies at the heart of the plant's policy of using the most up to date processes and systems in the ares of quality management.

Pervouralsky Novotrubny Works operates quality management systems in compliance with ISO 9002 and API Q1 standards (the latter certified by the American Petroleum Institute).

Certificates of conformance issued by authoritative foreign and Russian organization attest to the unwavering quality of a number of crucial types of production:

- TÜV Rheinland/Berlin-Brandenburg (for pipes used in pressure installations, and also applied in construction);
- American Petroleum Institute (for oil tubing and pipeline pipes);
- Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (for seamless pipes and cylinders used in shipbuilding), and a number of others.







Quality control of output is performed independently of production by staff from the Quality Control Departament. The control technologies being used:

- visual inspection;
- control of product geometric parameters;
- steel grade control;
- hydraulic and pneumatic testing using internal pressure;
nondestructive inspection (ultrasonic, eddy current, electromagnetic).

Products are shipped to the Customer only after conducting all inspection and testing methods provided for in the technological requirements, after obtaining positive results, and after executing appropriate confiramation documents.

Experts at the works Central Laboratory regularly carry out checks to see that technological processes are observed. Here also, in control laboratories fitted with modern equipment, they analyze the chemical composition of the metal in pipes and cylinders and conduct metallographic investigations and mechanico-technological tests. Internal checks of the quality management system are carried out by the independent staff of the Audit and Certification Departament.
